Commit to excellence in maternal and infant health

Expert guidance for health care facilities to integrate doula care with evidence-based practices while centering community health responsive initiatives

What is DFI?

The Doula Friendly Initiative (DFI) is a dynamic, nationwide initiative, centering the evidence-based best practice of promoting doula services. A facility that has become a Doula Friendly Designated Hospital™ incorporates doulas as an integral part of the healthcare team demonstrating your commitment to excellence in serving your community. Each Doula Friendly designated facility must meet several criteria of achievement spanning across categories including access, community engagement, marketing, training, and reporting.

Our team assists each facility in achieving all goals by completing a thorough assessment to personalize the steps that must be taken to earn your facilities designation. Each facility is well supported by experienced doulas to assist with policy development, distributing information, training initial staff, coordinating data needs, and more. The DFI promotes rigorous standards of care, to ensure all outcome methods established are achieved.
